Parque do Kartódromo
Marcos brought me to the perfect new running spot the other day at Parque do Kartódromo.
I feel in love with our new running location, our new gym. It was absolutely just perfect. It had everything you needed: a huge track to run, playground area, workout areas, and much more. It was so nice to switch it up from running at the gym on the treadmill and running at Marcos' schools track to running on this track.
Fun Fact: The Parque do Kartódromo actually used to be a racing kart track, which is why the track is shaped the way it is. It is just a very unique and different running track compared to the other normal oval shape one we had been running on. You definitely will not get bored running on it either. There are normally lots of people at this track doing all types of things ranging from working out, to playing music, to playing on the playground. Like I said, you can't get bored running on this track!

Our Workouts at the Track
As you can see above Marcos has it down with the ability to do pull ups compared to my pull ups. He couldn't even get a picture of me doing a pull up, because I didn't last very long up there. My upper strength is terrible right now, which is why I need to incorporate building my upper strength into my workout plan by doing push ups among other workouts as I continue to work out.
Marcos and I have been trying to focus more on building our core muscles and I'm sorry, but I won't be posting pictures or videos of him or I doing sit ups or crunches quite yet. Maybe I will down the road when our abs look super amazing. LOL. Another goal of mine is to get my legs and glutes more toned, so I of course incorporate my squats in my workouts, but again I won't be posting pictures or videos of that either.

We survived!
Yes I know, we look like little weaklings, but Marcos has been working very hard at trying to finish up his very last semester at school, so we haven't exactly had all of the time in the world or anything to go workout.
Our workouts have been very intermittent this past month; however, I have been probably driving Marcos crazy here lately about us getting back on our workout schedule. It's been hard on me running outside, because I am so used to running on a treadmill, but I do prefer to run outside. Therefore, running outside seems to help my mind really relax more, forget about my worries, and just enjoy the Brazilian nature. On another note, with having a shunt I do have to be careful about running in conditions like this. We always wait till it's cooler outside at night time so that the heat won't effect my shunt too much, however my head has been quite annoying at the end of my past few runs. Which is why we need to keep up with a daily schedule with our workout's so I don't feel like this every time. I love that Marcos is just as into fitness as I am. It's definitely healthier for a relationship that's for sure. I am looking forward to achieving our fitness goals together. |
