I have to say these Brazilians sure do know how to cook at a barbecue! They grill: cheese on a stick, maminha (a type of beef), Linguiça (a type of sausage) and pineapple with cinnamon and sugar on a stick (you must try this one at home). All of the meats were so darn delicious! Marcos' dad was the cook and he did an amazing job! Brazilian barbecue's are definitely my favorite. I can not wait to eat at more of these barbecue's. |
Mayo
This is another tasty dish that I very much enjoyed, called mayo! It was filled with lots of corn, mayonnaise, potatoes, peas, and my favorite palmito (palm tree). This was actually an appetizer as we waited for the meats to get done. It's a very Brazilian dish. You normally eat this with a salad.
At a Brazilian barbecue they eat as they cook. Cutting meats, cheeses, and pineapples onto plates and everyone picking at what they want to eat. That's my kind of cooking right there! I'm terrible when it comes to snacking before meals, just ask Marcos, lol. I can't help it though. It's a bad habit of mine, I know. |
And last but not least, the Caipirinha. We had to indulge in this delicious Brazilian drink. It's mixed with Cachaça, lime, orange, and sugar. This is the very first Brazilian drink that I tried back in Colorado where Marcos and I first meet. It became my choice of drink very quickly during dinner's. All of you must check to see if you live near a Brazilian steakhouse. My parent's and I actually went to a Brazilian Steakhouse in Knoxville, TN to get a feel of the Brazilian culture and we loved the experience. So, you must go and indulge in some Caipirinha's, try the amazing tasty Brazilian meats, and get a feel of the Brazilian culture (or just come to Brazil, LOL).
