Oh my gosh, last night Marcos took me to this pizza place called Bom Pedaço Pizzaria. They have this pizza system where the servers bring out the most amazing pizzas to you continuously. You can either say sim, which means yes, or não, which means no, when the servers come around with the pizza. You are also using other phrases like obrigada, which means thank you. It was overwhelming just how good these pizza looked and tasted. I of course had to drink a nice cold Brazilian brewski with my pizza.
This first delicious pizza you see has dried tomatoes and garlic and the other has dried tomatoes and spinach with olive oil. The one with the spinach on the pizza was my favorite. Also Brazilians typically eat their pizza using a knife and fork, so I choose to throw away my American ways of eating to fit in. | What you see above is the aftermath of our pizza crusts. In Brazil, Brazilian's don't normally eat the crust so they can eat more of the body of the pizza. Therefore, that is how Marcos and I took down 40 slices of pizza, which only cost us $6.20 of American money for each of us. We were so unbelievably full. I wish I could say we stopped there, but then the servers started bringing out desert pizzas. Marcos goes, "baby, there's always room for desert." So that happened! |
The first desert pizza you see is coconut pizza and the one on the right is chocolate with chocolate balls. The chocolate one was my favorite. Around this time I was seriously so full, but then they brought even more amazing looking desert pizzas. So I couldn't stop there of course! | Yes, it just keeps looking ridiculous! This plate was filled with strawberry ice cream, doce de leite (candy of milk) with peanuts pizza, banana with cinnamon pizza, and white and dark chocolate spread with strawberries pizza. Let me tell you I felt like I could barely move. It all was so good, we couldn't help but eat all that pizza. This could be trouble living only a couple steps from this pizzeria. |
This was one of our amazing servers during the pizza overload, Peterson. He made sure that we were stuffed with pizza and me, being an American, he made sure I tried almost all of the pizza selections they had. I was excited when he heard I was an American, because he started communicating with me in English. Granted, I need to keep improving my Portuguese, however I do appreciate it when a Native Brazilian tries to communicate with me in English. It makes it more fun!
